Whether you are traveling with your family or your
troop, here at "The Crystal Seen" we are delighted to announce a newly-renewed affiliation with the Girl Scouts of America.
A ten year veteran of the GSA, I am currently a licensed miner here in Mount Ida, Arkansas "The Crystal Capital of the World"
and have recently discovered that we have the ability to assist the girls (from Daisies to Seniors) in achieving a Petal,
Try-It or badge, while they are digging crystal with us, here in our "tailings" (crystal dirt).
Since moving to Mount Ida in 1999, and with a focus
on children, safety and teaching, we have been sharing our tailings with all those who wish to learn, digging with them to
show them the ropes and answering any questions they may have. Now, as a member of the Girl Scouts, and as a licensed miner,
Julie Kincaid, will be offering the following opportunities to girls from 5-17.
*SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS MAY ALSO BE MADE FOR BOY SCOUTS
OF ALL AGES, AS WELL*

DAISIES and BROWNIES ~ They will dig a
pre-planned mineral collection with me and will have a chance to dig other crystals while they are here. Different stones
will be available to find in a supervised dig, and the girls will get to keep everything that they find, including a beautiful,
crystal jewelry point. There will be a short discussion on the earth and what she gives us, and they will be given a certificate,
naming them "honorary miners in "The Crystal Capital of the World."
We can also wire-wrap the jewelry point crystal from
the mineral dig with sterling Silver into a beautiful pendant, and put a black rope on it so it can be worn home as a wonderful
souvenir of their time here with us.
DAISIES may be eligible for a petal, and BROWNIES achieve
points for the "Earth and Sky" Try-It.
JUNIORS, CADETTES AND SENIORS~
They may complete several badge requirements while
here. In addition to the mineral dig, with the girls keeping all they find, including a beautiful jewelry point, discussions
will be held about fossils, the mining industry, and the geology of the region. Each will also receive a printed 6x5" card
suitable for framing, with 20 different stones, several of which can be dug right here. I will also be happy to give interviews,
having made a career out of mining and selling crystal, satisfying yet another requirement. A signed and dated certificate
naming them as "honorary miners" and stating which of the requirements for this badge have been met, will be given each girl
upon completion.
JUNIORS complete requirements for ROCKS ROCK badge,
and the CADETTES for DIGGING INTO THE PAST.
GROUP RATES ARE AVAILABLE FOR 10 OR MORE.
